Mono no Aware

Mono no aware, is a Japanese term for the awareness of impermanence, or the bittersweet awareness of the passing moments of life. Revolving around the essence of the expression, my work delves into the world of loneliness, longing and nostalgia through the captured fleeting moments of my personal life. The emotional baggage on my shoulder has now been translated into a physical form of a weighing scale - As photos are removed from the scale, the emotional burdens on myself reduce simultaneously. Series of question pops up in my head during the process of creating this personal work of mine and the main take away from it:

“Who in my life holds the most weight and means the most to me? And they are none other than my loved ones.”
